From Pisa airport head for the Autostrada Fierence/Genova. The Autostrada has green road signs. Go through the toll barrier and collect ticket en route. Take the first exit on the right signposted Firenze. Keep following signs for Firenze/Lucca. Once at Lucca take the exit Lucca Ovest (2 Euro 30 Cents). Drive around the outside of the walled town centre.
Follow the signs which alternate between Bagni de Lucca, Abertone Barga. As you exit the town you will drive along a long straight section with the town still on your right. After a couple of miles you will bee the Butterfly Restaurant on the left. Take a left just after the restaurant. The road is signposted Abertone/Garfagana. From this point head to Bagni de Lucca (approx. 25 minutes). As you reach Bagni de Lucca there is a set of traffic lights as the road reduces to a single lane. Unless you want to go into the town go straight on until you come to a village called Fabbriche di Casabasciana (10 minutes).
On the RHS in the centre of the village there is a sign for Crasciana/Casabasciana. Drive up the winding road for 7km and follow the signs to Crasciana Alto. Park by the cemetery and walk along the low road into the village. Walk up the stairs through the arch and the house is located 30 years on the right. Buff coloured rendered building - Left hand door - No. 3.
